With basketball and baseball still being followed up throughout our nation, wrestling is being witness and done all around Nigeria with one of the greatest wrestler's ever to compete, Okonkwo, being honored today with the ceremony for all his hard fought career, and astonishing victories. Okonkwo will be known as one of, or the greatest wrestler ever to compete in our land, showing great sportsmanship, leadership, and amazing victories.Okonkwo started wrestling at a young age and throughout all his teenage years started to become a very talented wrestler: "As a young man of eighteen he had brought honor to his village by throwing Amalinze the Cat. Amalinze was the great wrestler who for seven years was unbeaten, from Umuofia to Mbaino." (Achebe 1). Going on into his young adult years, Okonkwo was competing at very difficult levels and was able to compete and win at that level. Okonkwo throughout his years wrestling with such a great stature, was always very intimidatin: "He was tall and huge, and his bushy eyebrows and wide nose gave him a very severe look." (Achebe 1-2) Okonkwo in his adult years was able to become a pro, and was able to compete against some of the best wrestlers ever to compete, and was able to win. Okonkwo had a very big impact on the community as he inspired many to become interested in Wrestling. The sport has brought many children and people together and he has inspired many.
